Michelle A. Beauchesne, DNSc, RN, CPNP, a member of the Eastern Massachusetts Chapter of the National Association of Pediatric Nurse Practitioners (NAPNAP), assumes the Presidency of NAPNAP July 1, 2009. Michelle is an Associate Professor and Coordinator of the Pediatric Nurse Practitioner (PNP) Programs at Northeastern University in Boston. She received her BSN from Georgetown University, her MSN from a joint program by Boston College and Harvard Medical School, her DNSc from Boston University and completed a post-doctoral LEND Fellowship in Neurodevelomental Sciences. Michelle, an expert PNP in the care of children and families with neurodevelopmental disabilities, is a Distinguished Practitioner in the National Academy of Practice and a Fellow in the American Academy of Nurse Practitioners. In addition to her clinical expertise, Michelle is a respected leader in advanced practice nursing education, having served as President of the Association of Pediatric Nurse Practitioner Faculties (AFPNP) and two terms on the Board of Directors of the National Organization of Nurse Practitioner Faculty (NONPF). In recognition of her international nursing leadership, Michelle received an Honorary Doctorate from Buckinghamshire New University in England. She continues to practice at McLean Hospital Developmental Disabilities Clinic in Belmont, MA. Michelle lives with her husband Alan, and two sons, Mark and Ryan, in Waltham MA.
