COMMITTEE RESPONSIBILITIESProgram CommitteeThe Program committee is responsible for the continuing education needs of the association. This includes finding speakers for chapter meetings and our spring symposium and booking venues. Membership CommitteeThe Membership committee helps to compile all our membership data and demographics. The committee is responsible for mailing membership forms yearly and collecting dues. Legislative CommitteeThe legislative Committee is responsible fro keeping the members of the association up-to date on timely legislative issues. This includes representation at various levels of the legislature, as well as providing guidelines and deadlines on which to act on specific issues. Newsletter CommitteeThe Newsletter Committee collects and organizes topics and articles for the association 's online newsletter. Public Relationas/ Website CommitteeThe Public Relations/ Website Committee maintains and updates the association's website. The committee is responsible for moderating the association's email mailing list through Yahoo Groups. EXECUTIVE BOARD RESPONSIBILITIESPresident-Elect: Expected to be active in the policy-making decisions of the the Executive Board, to represent the executive board and association in the absence of, or when delegated by the president, and to become familiar with the office of the President to which he/she succeeds. President: The President-elect becomes the President; the chief elected officer of the association. The President will preside at both general and executive meetings ,will implement such parliamentary rules as are necessary, and will serve as the spokesperson for the organization when so authorized in the bylaws. The President shall have knowledge of the administrative matters, business, and affairs of the association and shall cause policy made by the executive board to be implemented. The President shall appoint all committees and the chairpersons thereof, as provided by the bylaws; serve as an ex-officio member of all standing committees; and perform and discharge all duties incident to the office of President and such other duties as may be assigned by the executive board. Secretary: the Secretary will keep, or cause to be kept, a record of the minutes of the meetings of the association and the exucutive board. The Secretary may also engage in necessary correspondence. The Secretary will, in general, perform all duties incident to the office of Secretary and such other duties as the executive board may prescribe Treasurer: The Treasurer will be responsible for monitoring and planning for the financial stability of the association, in addition to performing such other duties as may be assigned by the executive board. |
